ΜΟΛΙΣ κάτι λιγότερο από 40 λεπτά, ήταν αρκετά για να χαράξουν οι Sex Pistols το όνομά τους στην ιστορία. Ενα και μοναδικό άλμπουμ, το Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols, έφτανε και περίσσευε για πέντε αλητάκια από το Λονδίνο, που «στριμώχτηκαν» σε μία... χαραμάδα της πανκ αιωνιότητας και «εξερράγησαν» με κομμάτια που επηρέασαν και επηρεάζουν μέχρι σήμερα τους πάντες. Ενα απ' αυτά είναι και το θρυλικό Anarchy In The U.K...
Πέρασαν αρκετά χρόνια μέχρι να βρεθεί γκρουπ να ακουμπήσει το συγκεκριμένο κομμάτι. To 1988 oι Megadeth κυκλοφόρησαν το τρίτο άλμπουμ τους, So Far, So Good... So What!, που έμελλε να κλείσει τον πρώτο κύκλο του γκρουπ. Ο Mustaine διασκεύασε μοναδικά το Anarchy In The U.K. μαζί με τον Jeff Young στις κιθάρες, αλλά και τον Steve Jones των Sex Pistols να χαρίζει το σόλο στο κομμάτι. Αξίζει να σημειωθεί ότι οι στίχοι του Johnny Rotten έχουν «προσαρμοστεί» στα... αμερικάνικα δεδομένα των Megadeth και παρόλο που ο τίτλος έχει παραμείνει ο ίδιος, ο Mustaine τραγουδά «Anarchy In The U.S.A». Eπίσης, έχουν αλλάξει και άλλα σημεία των στίχων.
Και φτάνουμε στο 1991. Οι Motley Crue έχοντας «σαρώσει» με το Dr. Feelgood (1989), μπουκάρουν στα 90's με το πρώτο best τους, το Decade of Decadence. Εκεί μέσα διασκευάζουν και αυτοί, άκρως επιτυχημένα, το Anarchy In The U.K., όμως και ο Vince Neil θα τραγουδήσει «Anarchy In The U.S.A», αλλάζοντας με τη σειρά του ελαφρώς τους πρωτότυπους στίχους.
Και το original κομμάτι, γιατί σαν το αυθεντικό δεν είναι κανένα...
